Missoula is located in an old, glacial lakebed, and is 3 hours south of Glacier National Park and 3-and-a-half hours west of Yellowstone National Park. It is surrounded by national forests and a handful of wilderness areas which makes it a great place to spend some time outdoors in the winter or summer months.
The town is an eclectic mix of funky shops and cafes and is home to the University of Montana. The yearly influx and circulation of young students makes Missoula a thriving town of young talent, personality and night life.
